Bowling Green Police Division located a missing endangered adult from Jackson, Michigan, on Saturday, around 11:40 p.m.
An officer was on patrol near the police division, when dispatch advised that a caller reported a recklessly operated vehicle headed eastbound on West Wooster Street. The officer saw the vehicle pass the police station, and pulled out behind the SUV, when the driver stopped quickly in the roadway.
The driver, aged 83, reportedly had difficulty answering basic questions. The officer identified that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but appeared to have dementia related issues.
After running the man’s driver’s license, dispatch advised the man had been reported as missing after he did not arrive at his destination in Michigan the day before.
BGPD arranged to meet at a halfway point with the Blissfield, Michigan, police department, to return the man to his home. His vehicle was secured for safekeeping in Bowling Green until a family member could make arrangements to pick it up.
