Are you a woman or woman-identified older adult 60+ years old?

Would you enjoy an opportunity to talk about your life story and connect with BGSU graduate students?

Sandra Faulkner and Wendy Watson, professors at BGSU, invite you to participate in a semi-structured interview via Zoom or in person with them and BGSU graduate students focusing on relationships throughout your life beginning in childhood until now.

Students will then create a portrait through poetry and pictures for you to keep. We will provide the interview questions ahead of the interview.

Poetic transcription entails researchers highlighting participants’ exact words and language from interview transcripts, cutting and pasting the essential elements in an effort to reveal the essence of a participants’ lived experiences. The students will then use the poetic transcriptions and photos provided by interviewees to create poetic portraits of the interviewees.

You will receive a $15 gift card to Grounds for Thought for your participation.

Please contact Sandra Faulkner at sandraf@bgsu.edu or 419-3721998 or 419-308-1798 for more information about creating an intergenerational connection.

The  poetic portraits will be unveiled  at a party at the Wood County Committee on Aging, Wednesday, Dec. 7, 3-5:30 p.m.
