Public hearing set on proposed 670-acre solar project near Weston

A public hearing on the proposed solar project near Weston will be held Sept. 8 at 6 p.m., in the Simpson Garden Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave., Bowling Green.

The Ohio Power Siting Board has scheduled a public hearing regarding Juliet Energy Project LLC’s proposal to construct an up to 101-megawatt solar farm in Weston and Milton townships and the village of Weston in Wood County.

The purpose of the local public hearing is to allow individuals, who are not parties to the case, to provide sworn testimony regarding the proposed facility. Testimony will be limited to five minutes per witness, and the hearing transcript will become part of the case record considered by the OPSB.

Witnesses can register when they arrive at the hearing and will testify in the order in which they register. If a witness wishes to supplement testimony with an exhibit, a copy of the document should be provided to the administrative law judge during the hearing.

The Juliet Solar project would consist of large arrays of solar panels on 670 acres of private land. The project would include associated facilities such as access roads, electric collection lines, inverters, weather stations, a substation and an operations and maintenance facility.
