Richard S Henning

Richard S. Henning, age 61, of Weston, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

He was born on February 26, 1965, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to Richard B. and Charlotte J. (McKinnis) Henning.

Rich is survived by his loving mother, Charlotte Henning; brother, Michael Henning of Wayne; sister, Ginger (Will) McDaniel of Fostoria; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Brandon) Svanberg, Joey Brown, Michael (Britney) Henning, Cody Henning, and Dustin (Amanda) Ferguson; along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard B. Henning.

Rich was a proud 1983 graduate of Otsego High School and dedicated many years of service to Johns Manville. After a long career, he was looking forward to retirement, which was just seven months away.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures. Rich loved camping, fishing, and spending time riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He enjoyed relaxing with friends, listening to music, and having a Bud Light while sharing stories and laughter. A devoted sports enthusiast, Rich was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Dallas Cowboys. He also had a passion for cars and appreciated anything with horsepower and a great engine.

Rich will be remembered for his easygoing personality, his love of the open road, and the many friendships he made throughout his life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. with his brother-in law, comedian Will McDaniel, officiating.

In honor of Rich’s love for motorcycles, the family invites everyone attending to wear Harley-Davidson attire and, if possible, ride their motorcycle to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wood County Humane Society or Toys for Tots.

Online condolences may be shared with Rich’s family at www.barndtfuneralhome.org.
