Robert J Leffel

Robert J. Leffel passed away August 11, 2026, at the Hospice of N.W. Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born February 25, 1945, to James and Betty (Tunison) Leffel in Toledo, Ohio, and was a member of St. Thomas More University Parish, in Bowling Green, Ohio.

Bob was a coach for both his children in baseball and softball and was a cub and boy scout leader. He especially loved camping with his family and friends. He cherished going to watch the kids and grandchildren play sports and was always recording meets and games.

On June 10, 1967, Bob married the love of his life, Suzanne M. (Mohler) at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Sylvania, Ohio. He attended Little Flower and graduated from Sylvania H.S. in 1964.

Bob completed apprentice training for a career in Tool & Die in 1968, and worked at small Die Shops before taking a job at Jeep, in 1972. He worked his way up to Sr. Process Engineer, before retiring after 34 1/2 years, in 2007.

After retirement, he and Suzanne took a 30 day 40th Anniversary road trip to Florida and up the East Coast. In 2009, they became Camper Hosts at Maumee Bay St. Park, in Oregon, Ohio, where they met and made so many wonderful friends! In 2013, Bob donated a kidney to a co-worker. He was as kind, selfless and caring a person as anyone could know and was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He leaves us with beautiful memories!

He is survived by Suzanne, his wife of 59 years; son, Jasen (Ann), Brayden, Harper, Jack Robert; daughter, Tonya (Dennis), Collin (Abby), Ethan (Arabella), Sawyer, Gavin (Laney) and Taryn DeWese; brothers, Lawrence and Ronald (Cindy). He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank and David; and sister-in-law, Patrice.
