Robert L Kepling

Robert “Bob” L. Kepling of Bowling Green, OH (formerly of Toledo, OH and Grand Rapids, OH) passed away peacefully from complications of COPD at the age of 76 on the morning of June 23, 2026. He was with family when he passed.

Born December 14, 1949, Bob was in the final graduating class of Grand Rapids High School before consolidation with Otsego. He earned certification at Penta County Vocational School in auto body repair and spent 44 years mastering his craft. He loved fishing, traveling, and being involved with The National Tractor Pulling Championships as a “Blue Shirt” for more than 25 years. He also loved Ohio State Buckeye football and NASCAR racing.

Bob was a relatively quiet person but often would be quick witted and land a one liner at the drop of a hat leaving those around him speechless or laughing uncontrollably!

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Alberta and Cecil Kepling and his brother Bill.

Bob Kepling is survived by his wife of 28 years, Susan (Drake), sisters JoAnn Ottinger and Deb (Gary) Gamby, brothers Jim (Linda), Tom, and Gene, his children Corina Hall, Scott (Lisa) Kepling, and Wendy (Seth) Taylor, Michael (Megan) Loera, Kathy Dibling, and Tim Dibling. He also was a grandfather and great-grandfather to many through blood, marriage, adoption, and fostering.

Visitation for Bob will be held Saturday June 27th, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio at 408 W. Wooster St. 43402. His funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the service, there will be a celebration of life banquet at the National Tractor Pulling Championships meeting room, located at 1150 Haskins Rd, Bowling Green, until 5pm. Bob requested for all who could attend to have a toast together to celebrate his life.

Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s honor to the Sons of the American Legion Post 232, 12580 S. River Road, Grand Rapids, OH 43522; or to the Autism Society Northwest Ohio, 7140 Port Sylvania Drive, Toledo, OH 43617.
