The Bowling Green Exchange Club and Bowling Green High School have announced that Romy Nazario is the March 2026 Student of the Month. Romy is a senior at Bowling Green High School and will graduate on May 24. She is the daughter of Erin Gallagher and Balbino Nazario.
Romy’s school honors and activities include membership in the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. She is actively involved in leadership and extracurricular activities throughout BGHS; she serves as vice president of Model United Nations, co-president of Spanish Club, a student government representative, and student director for BGHS choir officers. She is also a member of the BGHS Madrigals and a four-year scholar athlete and team captain on the cross country team.
Beyond school, Romy has participated in civic engagement activities through her involvement in the FEMA Region 5 Youth Preparedness Council and the Cross-Border Youth Preparedness Council, where she worked with federal officers and international partners to promote emergency preparedness. She also served on the Ohio Attorney General’s Team Ambassador Board and participated in Buckeye Girls State as a legal defender.
Romy works as a lead lifeguard at the Bowling Green City Pool and has also been actively involved in volunteer work throughout the community with events such as the Black Swamp Arts Festival, Firefly Nights, and Kids Coalition Against Hunger.
She holds a 4.33 GPA and earned a composite ACT score of 29. After high school, she plans to attend a four-year college to study international relations before pursuing a law degree with the goal of attending law school.
