The Ohio Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Village of Grand Rapids, is improving safety at the intersection of Ohio 65 and Ohio 295 in Grand Rapids.
Maintenance forces will convert the intersection of Route 65 at Route 295 from the existing two-way stop to a four-way/all-way stop on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
The purpose for the change is to improve safety and address a crash trend at the intersection in which the most common type of crash was the result of drivers failing to yield to cross-traffic that was not required to stop.
Message boards are posted at each of the approaches to the intersection. Motorists are reminded of the need for additional caution through the intersection after the change is implemented.
