A Rudolph man was arrested Sunday (2/9) for refusing to submit to OVI tests and for improper handling of a firearm in a vehicle.
Bowling Green Police stopped Travis Copley, 34, for allegedly swerving on South Main Street near East Gypsy Lane Road around 1:20 a.m.
Though Copley told police he doesn’t drink alcohol, he reportedly had slurred speech, a strong odor of alcohol, and bloodshot eyes. He was wearing a blue wristband from a downtown bar.
While he was trying to retrieve his registration and insurance information, the officer reportedly noticed a gun under Copley’s steering wheel.
Copley reportedly refused to submit to a breath or urine test. His operator’s license was confiscated.
He was arrested for OVI/refusal, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and obstruction of official business. He was taken to Wood County Jail.
