Ruth Ann Hentges

Ruth Ann Hentges, 86, of Bowling Green, OH passed away on November 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at Bridge Hospice Family Care Center Findlay. She was born on September 1, 1937 at home, Perrysburg, OH to Lawerence and Helen (Christen) Brinker. On September 21, 1957, she married Darrel E. Hentges at Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg, OH.

Ruth Ann was a 1954 graduate of Perrysburg High School, a graduate of Carnegie Institute in Cleveland, OH, and also attended Owens Community College. She was a Medical Laboratory Technician at Wood County Hospital and a Personal Banker with Huntington National Bank. She was a lifelong member of Zoar Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and married. She was active with Women of the Church, the Salvation Army, Wood County Extension Homemakers, and was a 4H advisor for 17 years. She started the Lime City 4H Club at the age of 15. Her other interests included angels, reading, sewing, attending basketball games and track meets, and traveling, having visited 14 countries and 30 states. Ruth Ann played the piano and won a talent contest playing the accordion. She also knitted sweaters for her family made from wool from their own Rambouillet sheep.

Ruth Ann is survived by her daughters, Dawn (Mark) Anderson and Deanne (Jack) Corken; grandchildren, Leesa (Matt) Caris and Andy Corken; step-grandchildren, Christopher (Megan) Anderson and Bradley (Erin) Anderson; great grandchildren, Zoey Caris and Avery Caris; step-great grandchildren, Hunter Anderson and Grace Anderson; sisters, Kathleen Hahn, Marilyn (Ken) Hamen, and Janell (Dave) Vickers; sister-in-law, C. Evonne Davidson and Joyce Brinker; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years in 2013, Darrel; sister Helen Jean Rollins; brothers, Richard Brinker and Paul Brinker; sister-in-law, Marlene Brinker; brothers-in-law Darrell Rollins and Walter Davidson. Family was of utmost importance to Ruth Ann, and she devoted her life to family.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 2-6 pm at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 Main Street, Luckey, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 11am on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Zoar Lutheran Church, Perrysburg, OH with additional visitation from 10am until time of services. Officiating will be Pastor Paul Reichart. Internment will be in New Belleville Ridge Cemetery, Dowling, OH. A bereavement luncheon will be served at the church immediately following the cemetery committal services. Consideration of memorial contributions are: Zoar Lutheran Church, the Salvation Army, or the Wood County Hospital Foundation.
