R.V. Myers Jr., 84, of Fostoria, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family, Monday April 27, 2026. He was born December 13, 1941 in Fostoria Ohio to R.V. & Norma (Hill) Myers Sr. He married Janice Marie Kline, April 27, 1985 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Fostoria.
He is survived by his wife, sons Chris (Jean) Myers of Findlay, Ryan (Lisa) Myers of Bowling Green, Kevin (Connie) Murphy, Sean (Heather) Murphy, daughters Kim Murphy & Colleen Rhoads all of Fostoria, brother Larry (Elaine) Myers of Fort Myers, Florida, sister Betty (Lewis “Bud”) Baumbarger of Fostoria, 20 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Amber Myers.
R.V. retired in 2001 from Autolite/Honeywell. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Fostoria and Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Risingsun. He was a 1959 graduate of Fostoria High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving six years with the last four months, having been extended due to the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a member of U.A.W. Local 533. He loved watching NASCAR on Sundays, especially with his sons. As well as the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians & Ohio State football. He also enjoyed watching Fox News & The Weather Channel. R.V. was a devoted Christian. He attended many sporting events and programs for his children and grandchildren. He was also the coach of many teams for his children.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria Ohio with Grandsons Aidan & Justin Nowicki officiating. Burial will take place at Fountain Cemetery Fostoria, where military honors will be performed by the United Veterans of Fostoria. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 2 to 4 p.m. & 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
