Meet Sawyer, a 3-year-old hound mix, who was just returned to the shelter when he was not getting along with the other dog in the home. He was becoming possessive of the owner with the other dog and the owner thought it was best to bring him back to find a home that better fits his needs.
Sawyer is an absolute sweetheart with people and loves to play fetch and tug-o-war in the dog park, said Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding. He walks great on a leash and loves every person he meets, she added. He would do best in a home with either no other dogs, or a family that understands his possessiveness and can work on this behavior. He knows his basic commands and would make someone a great companion, Harding said.
