Severe drought conditions exist in parts of Northwest Ohio

The Wood County Emergency Management Agency has issued the following advisory:

A Drought Information Statement has been issued for northern Ohio by the National Weather Service Cleveland.

Severe Drought (D2) conditions have developed across portions of northwestern Ohio.

This is the first time D2 conditions have occurred in the NWS Cleveland forecast area since August 2016.

Please find the latest Drought Information Statement attached. 

NWS Cleveland begins issuing Drought Information Statements when the U.S. Drought Monitor places local counties into D2 conditions. U.S. Drought Monitor information is updated at around 830 A.M.. every Thursday and DGTs will be updated on the same day. Additional emails will be sent in the event of significant changes to the Drought Monitor.
