Spring Fling Family Fair to offer fun and resources for all families

Families throughout Wood County are invited to the first Spring Fling Family Fair to be held Wednesday, April 19, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 1526 E. Wooster St., Bowling Green.

The event is being coordinated by the Wood County Family & Children First Council, with the goal of bringing community resources to families and emphasizing the importance of positive family time.

“It’s open to any families,” said Melissa Coe, coordinator of the Wood County Family & Children First Council.

There will be pizza, nachos, popcorn and snow cones available.

Families will be able to participate in carnival games and activities, and win raffle prizes of MudHens tickets, Toledo Zoo passes and more.

BGSU football players, cheerleaders, and BGSU mascots Frieda and Freddie will be in attendance to visit with families.

“We’re really trying to get family-focused events,” Coe said. “We want to bring families together for a night of family fun.”

The event will also feature several community agencies that provide assistance or resources to families.

“If they need help, they can connect here,” Coe said.
