Reem Subei of Perrysburg has filed to run for Ohio’s Second Senate District seat.
Subei advocates for equitable access to education, housing, and economic development for families across Northwest Ohio. A graduate of the University of Toledo School of Law, she plans to bring the voice of the people to the State Senate.
“It is time for us to have legislators who will listen to people and solve the people’s problems rather than politicians who come to the table with a preconceived agenda,” said Subei.
Subei credits her community for teaching her the importance of standing together. Subei now works as a legal aid attorney where she serves 32 counties in Northwest Ohio including State Senate District 2. As a legal aid and civil rights attorney, Subei advocates for working families, deepening her understanding of the many ways policies have failed to protect the most vulnerable in our society.
In 2015 and 2016, Subei worked as a court mediator and an advocate for children dealing with family breakdown.
“I represented parents and children caught up in opioid crisis. I watched firsthand how Big Pharma’s greed and the failure of our legislature to act was tearing families apart and removing children from their homes.”
Subei wants to fix the education funding formula in Ohio and ensure that state funds are invested in healthcare and public transportation. To learn more about Reem for Ohio, visit www.reemsubei.com or follow @ReemforOhio on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
