Update: Teen motorcycle operator dies in collision

A Pemberville teen died this afternoon (July 22) when his motorcycle collided with an SUV at the intersection of Lemoyne Road and Rees Road.

According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, a 1981 Honda 200 motorcycle, operated by Cole Genson, 16, Pemberville, was traveling east on Rees Road at about 3 p.m. when it failed to stop at the stop sign and struck driver’s side of an SUV that was northbound on Lemoyne. 

Genson was pronounced deceased on scene. 

Cory Price, 32, the operator of the SUV was seen by EMS crews and released.

Sheriff’s deputies along with Pemberville/Freedom Township EMS crews were dispatched to the scene.

At this time the crash is still under investigation.
