Veteran state legislator Teresa Fedor, with 18 years of experience as a classroom teacher, announced her candidacy for the Ohio Board of Education District 2 this Fall.
“We need common sense perspectives at the State Board of Education,” said Fedor. “We need to give teachers the tools to teach, students the tools to learn, and parents the certainty that the classroom is free from culture wars,” said Fedor.
Fedor, who has served as a legislator for 22 years as a State Representative and State Senator is known for her knowledge of education policy as well as her grasp of Ohio school financing. She did not seek re-election, instead joined gubernatorial candidate John Cranley as his running mate. The ticket lost in the Democratic primary.
Throughout her legislative career, Fedor has focused predominantly on education, health care, and human trafficking.
Fedor is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Ohio Air National Guard, spent 18 years in the classroom at Toledo Public Schools before first pursuing elected office in 2000 (Ohio House of Representatives, 52nd District). She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Toledo.
