It’s been three months, and Thor is still waiting at the Wood County Dog Shelter for a home.
Thor is a 1-year-old American bulldog, who came to the shelter as a stray in early May. According to Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding, he can be a little shy at first, “but once he warms up to you, he is your best friend.”
Thor lives for food and will do anything for a treat, Harding said. He has some medical issues that are being worked through at the shelter and he is doing very well, she added.
“He loves everyone at the shelter, but would love to be in his forever home more,” Harding said.
Thor is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. He does well with the other dogs at the shelter but prefers laid back dogs. The warden recommended everyone from an adopting family – those who are two- and four-legged – come in and meet Thor to make sure he is the right fit for the home.
The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.
The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
