Horizon Youth Theatre is pleased to announce its 2024 winter production, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, written by Robert Fulghum and directed by Cassie Greenlee. Performances are being held in the historic Grand Rapids Town Hall, 24287 Front Street, on Friday, March 8 at 7:00 pm; Saturday, March 9 at 7:00 pm; and Sunday, March 10 at 2:00 pm.
All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten brings life to many of Robert Fulghum’s wonderfully told stories from his collected writings. Composed of around twenty short, inter-connected scenes, the play explores important life lessons learned at every age, through stories and songs that are funny, engaging, and impactful. From a kindergarten class’s highly unusual production of Cinderella, to a teenage ghost story about the “stuff” in the sink strainer, to a reenactment of the dramatic demise of a fancy briefcase, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten will make you laugh, possibly cry, and definitely keep you thinking.
Tickets are $8 for students and seniors and $10 for adults, available at horizonyouththeatre.org or at the door. The promotional show image (shown above) is designed to be a coloring page – print it out, have fun with markers and crayons, and bring it to the show for $1.00 off your ticket price! As always there will also be a raffle in support of HYT’s future projects.
