Toledo police lieutenant pleads guilty to charges resulting from injury crash

Third floor of Wood County Courthouse

Adam Fish, a lieutenant with the Toledo Police Department, entered guilty pleas to Vehicular Assault and Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol today (July 1) in Wood County Court of Common Pleas.

The charges were the result of a Dec. 20, 2025 crash that sent one person to the hospital.

Fish is pn administrative leave.

According Wood County Prosecuting Attorney Paul Dobsonto, Vehicular Assault is a felony of the fourth degree and exposes Fish to a maximum penalty of 18 months in prison. The OVI offense is a misdemeanor of the first degree.

Fish had originally been charged with Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a felony of the third degree. Prosecutors cited evidentiary concerns relative to motions that had been filed by the defense and the consent and understanding of the victims in the matter for the reduction.

Sentencing has been set for Nov. 19 before Common Pleas Judge Joel Kuhlman.
