Tossed bottle leads to arrest for concealed carry and marijuana in vehicle

Bowling Green Police Division was called about an alcohol bottle being tossed from a vehicle in the drive through lane of a restaurant in the 1400 block of East Wooster Street Sunday around 4:15 a.m. Officers reportedly found nearly 26 grams of marijuana, a firearm with a round in the chamber, and the driver with no license.

Terryon Mitchell, 18, of Toledo, was cited for possession of marijuna and driving without a license. Romario Mitchell, 20, of Toledo, was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon.

When questioned, Terryon Mitchell admitted to there being marijuana in the vehicle, but no one reportedly acknowledged a firearm in the vehicle even after police found an unfired round on the driver’s seat.

The gun, with 14 rounds of ammunition, was reportedly found concealed in a towel on the floorboard. Romario Mitchell reportedly told police he had just moved into an apartment in Toledo and had the firearm for protection.

Romario Mitchell was transported to Wood County Jail.
