Velma Ruth Dorman, 102, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026. She was born April 13, 1924, to the late Grover and Clara (Dittman) Spangler. She married Glen Dorman on February 4, 1944, who preceded her in death.
Together, Velma and Glen welcomed two sons, Tom and Dan. Velma devoted her life to her family; her love for them was made evident through her home-cooked meals, well-tended garden, and sewing skills. In her spare time, she also liked to dance and golf.
After her husband Glen’s passing, Velma moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she enjoyed the sunshine and warmth for over 45 years before returning to Ohio to be closer to family.
Velma is survived by sons Tom (Cheryl) Dorman of Bowling Green, Ohio and Dan (Katherine) Dorman of Perrysburg, Ohio; grandchildren Douglas Dorman, Kevin (Jenna) Dorman, Brian (Laurie) Dorman, William (Amanda) Dorman, and Matthew (Kristen) Dorman, and step-grandchild Kaitlyn Dorman.
In addition to her parents and husband, Velma was preceded in death by her brothers Stanley, Paul, Melvin, Eldon, and Richard Spangler, sisters Evelyn and Dorothy Spangler, and special friend Lucine Spangler.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home, located in the Historical District of Bowling Green at 408 W. Wooster St. Her funeral service will immediately follow, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
