Village Players’ ‘Complete Works Shakespeare’ runs through weekend

“The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised] [Again]” continues its run  at at The Village Players Theatre,  2740 Upton Ave., Toledo, with shows Friday, April 12 at 8 p.m. 
Saturday, April 13 at 8 p.m. and  Sunday, April 14  at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and students $15.

The show features Rachel Hetrick, Tim McMahon, and Pippin Green, under the direction of Ryan Albrecht, as they take on an ever-changing litany of characters in a non-stop mad-dash throughout all of Shakespeare’s canon. “

It’s an absolutely wild ride”, says Albrecht, self-professed Shakespeare nerd, “We will tread that fine line between genius and insanity, and hopefully leaving you howling in laugher”. The show sees 3 actors in an attempt to perform all of Shakespeare’s place as fast as humanly possible, and then even faster, and possibly even backwards. 

“It’s a test of endurance,” says McMahon, who sees himself play over a dozen characters over the course of the show, “For both the actors and the audience.”

“Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged” The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again]” is a nonstop romp through all 37 of William Shakespeare’s plays. Three madcap actors weave their way through all of Shakespeare’s Comedies, Histories and Tragedies in 97 minutes, on a wild ride that will leave viewers breathless and filled to the brim with laughter. 

This show is a madcap roller-coaster ride. It is not recommended for people with bladder problems, Shakespearean scholars, inner-ear disorders, degrees in Elizabethan history, outer-ear disorder. If you pee on your seat, you may be asked to clean up the mess!
