Waterville man cited after single-vehicle rollover crash

A Waterville man was cited for refusing an OVI test and for failing to maintain reasonable control after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Friday around 5 p.m., at the intersection of West Poe Road and Mitchell Road.

Ryan Connelly, 23, told the responding Bowling Green police officer that he had been looking down at his phone, drove off the side of the road, then overcorrected.

The officer recorded that Connelly appeared lethargic, had delayed actions and responses, and glassy eyes. Connelly reportedly denied drinking alcohol prior to the crash.

Connelly reportedly refused a breath test. So the officer was granted a blood search warrant, and took Connelly to the hospital for a blood sample that will be sent off for testing.
