Bill Fink was born in Seymour, Indiana in 1923. He met and married his wife Marjorie in 1942. Bill was a WWII veteran and served in Europe in the 102nd Infantry Division.
When his military service was completed, Bill and Marjorie moved to Washington DC. Bill attended Georgetown University where he studied in the School of Foreign Service, played basketball, and interned with the Brookings Institute. Bill’s research and Marjorie’s job on Capital Hill actively engaged them in the Washington DC community.
Bill and Marjorie’s son, David, was born in 1947. At the same time, Bill began a long and successful career in the office furniture industry. In 1954, the family moved to Bowling Green, OH, which remained their primary residence. Bill was an accomplished golfer and pursued his love for golf at the Bowling Green Country Club, where he developed many lasting friendships.
Bill and Marjorie enjoyed traveling overseas, skiing, and living in Boca Grande, FL, where they owned several properties. Nearing retirement, Bill spent equal amounts of time in Ohio and Florida (following the sun for golfing purposes).
In 2008, Bill moved to North Las Vegas, NV and involved himself in a restaurant business. Bill took many trips out west, golfed in different parts of the country, and established a long history of always breaking even at the casinos. After selling his restaurant in 2017, Bill returned to Bowling Green to spend time with family.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife Marjorie and his brothers Harry, Jr. and Dale and is survived by David and Bonnie Fink, his son and daughter-in-law; Jennifer and Jeff Swerens, his granddaughter and her husband; and Nora and Paige Swerens, his great-granddaughters.
The family will honor Bill’s memory with a private service.
