Winner’s circles are often associated with races—horse races and car races—where Derby winners are adorned with floral wreaths or Indy winners drink a bottle of milk.
The definition of a winner’s circle is “an area where the winner of a game, contest, race, etc. receives their award.”
The 2023 Wood County Fair Winners’ Circle has a slightly different meaning. It is not where one winner gathers to receive their award.
Instead, because the fair winners have already received their awards in show rings, in front of the grandstand, in barns and fair buildings, this Winners’ Circles is where hundreds of Wood County Fair winners and their families and friends can read their names and remember the pride they felt when the winners were announced.
