The Wood County Committee on Aging, Inc. will be holding a “Matter of Balance” class at the Grand Rapids Area Center, 23019 Kellogg Road, Grand Rapids, every Monday, from Sept. 28 to Nov. 2, from 12:45 – 2:45 p.m. This eight-week evidence-based course will cost $20 and includes a manual for training purposes, weekly exercises to build strength and balance, and a certificate upon completion of the course.
Those with fears of falling, those that limit activity due to such fear, or those becoming physically weak are invited to “Matter of Balance.” During this class, participants will learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risk at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
