Wood County confirmed and probable COVID cases at 350

Wood County has 350 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, according to the Friday, June 26, update from the Wood County Health Department. That is an increase of five cases since Thursday.

A total of 51 people with the virus in Wood County have died. 

Of the 51 who have died, 26 were females, and 25 were males. Seven were in their 60s, 11 in their 70s, 23 in their 80s, and 10 in their 90s.

Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department now lists “active cases” by Zip Code. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to the Ohio Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention isolation criteria.

As of June 24 there are 10 active cases in the county.

The Perrysburg Zip Code area has more than six cases. The Bowling Green and Walbridge Zip Code areas have one to five cases.

Of the total 350 cases in Wood County, at least 202 are in long-term care facilities – 129 are residents and 73 are staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday. 

The following facilities have cases, as of June 24:

  • SKLD Perrysburg: 49 residents, 7 staff.
  • Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 17 staff.
  • Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 25 staff.
  • The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 6 staff.
  • Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 14 staff.
  • Otterbein Pemberville: 0 residents, 1 staff.
  • Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
  • St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
  • Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 42 of Wood County’s 51 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.

Of the total 350 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 55. Of the local cases, 211 are females and 139 are males.

A total of 69 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus.
