The Wood County Democratic Party Executive Committee met Feb. 6 to screen candidates in contested primaries.
The Executive Committee endorsed:
- Nick Rubando for US Congress District 5. Also on the ballot are Xavier Carrigan and Gene Redinger.
- Reem Subei for Ohio Senate District 2. Also on the ballot is Joel O’Dorisio.
In addition, we endorsed the following candidates who are uncontested in the March 17th Democratic Primary:
- Ohio Supreme Court, John O’Donnell and Jennifer Brunner
- Court of Appeals Sixth District: Myron Duhart and Thomas Osowik
- Ohio House District 3: Laurel Johnson
- Wood County Sheriff: Ruth Babel-Smith
- Wood County Recorder: Julie Baumgardner
- Common Pleas Judge: Joel Kuhlman
- Wood County Commissioner: Bruce Jeffers
Chair Michael Zickar stated: “The Wood County Democratic Party has a great slate of candidates running this year at the local level. We urge the citizens of Wood County to meet and learn about our candidates and look forward to bringing needed change in Washington, Columbus, and Wood County!”
