Wood County has 203 COVID-19 cases; 27 local residents have died

As of today, the county now has 203 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19, according to the Tuesday, May 5, update from the Wood County Health Department. The age range for local people with the virus is 1 to 100.

Three more Wood County residents with the virus have died – bringing the number to 27 deaths. The latest local people to die include two males in their 80s and one female in her 90s.

According to the April 29 numbers from the Wood County Health Department, there are 118 confirmed cases in local nursing homes, compared to 57 recorded last week. Of those 118 cases, 92 are residents and 26 are staff. Those numbers will be updated every Wednesday

The following facilities have cases:

  • SKLD Perrysburg: 45 residents, 2 staff.
  • Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 28 residents, 13 staff.
  • Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
  • The Manor at Perrysburg: 15 residents, 5 staff.
  • Otterbein Perrysburg: 3 residents, 6 staff.

The ODH listing attributes 15 deaths in Wood County nursing homes to COVID-19.

A total of 54 people with the virus in the county are hospitalized. 

Those with the virus range in age from 1 to 100, with the median age of 70. Of the 203 local cases, 122 are female, 81 are male.

Of the 27 county residents with COVID-19 who have died, 13 were females, and 14 were males. Three were in their 60s, nine in their 70s, 11 in their 80s, and four in their 90s.

No additional information about the 203 Wood County residents will be provided by the health department in order to protect their privacy.
