Wood County has reached 451 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases since March, according to the Wednesday, July 8, update from the Wood County Health Department. That is an increase of 10 cases since Tuesday.
As of Wednesday there are 63 active cases in the county. Active cases are Wood County residents who are being monitored by the health department according to state and federal isolation criteria.
Every Wednesday, the Wood County Health Department lists “active cases” by Zip Code. As of July 8, the Bowling Green area had between 36 and 40 active cases, and the Perrysburg area had between 11 and 15 active cases. The areas of Deshler, Grand Rapids, North Baltimore, Pemberville, Tontogany, Walbridge and Weston all had between one and five active cases.
A total of 51 people with the virus in Wood County have died since March.
Of the 51 who have died, 26 were females, and 25 were males. Seven were in their 60s, 11 in their 70s, 23 in their 80s, and 10 in their 90s.
Of the total 451 cases in Wood County, at least 216 have been in long-term care facilities – 133 were residents and 83 were staff. Those numbers from long-term care facilities are updated every Wednesday.

- SKLD Perrysburg: 49 residents, 7 staff.
- Kingston Residence of Perrysburg: 44 residents, 17 staff.
- Kingston Rehabilitation of Perrysburg: 11 residents, 25 staff.
- The Manor at Perrysburg: 18 residents, 6 staff.
- Otterbein Perrysburg: 4 residents, 15 staff.
- Otterbein Pemberville: 3 residents, 3 staff.
- Heritage Corner Health Care, Bowling Green: 1 resident, 3 staff.
- St. Clare Commons, Perrysburg: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Grand Rapids Care Center: 1 resident, 0 staff.
- Briar Hill Health Campus: 1 resident, 6 staff.
- Brookdale, Bowling Green: 0 residents, 1 staff.
According to the Ohio Department of Health, at least 42 of Wood County’s 51 deaths from COVID-19 have occurred in long-term care facilities.
Of the total 451 cases in the county as of today, those with the virus range in age from 1 to 102, with the median age of 49. Of the local cases, 265 are females and 185 are males.
A total of 71 Wood County residents have been hospitalized for the virus since March.
