Wood County reports 195 new COVID cases, 2 deaths, 6 hospitalizations since Monday

Wood County has reported 195 new COVID cases, two deaths and six hospitalizations since Monday, according to today’s report from the Wood County Health Department.

That brings the total for the county to 16,663 cases, 243 deaths, and 765 hospitalizations from COVID.

Wood County is seeing an average of 49 new COVID cases each day, and is now at 358 COVID cases per 100,000 residents, keeping the county in the high transmission range.

During the last two weeks, the 602 new COVID cases in the county broken down into ZIP Code areas show that all areas of the county are affected. The highest number of cases in the last two weeks were reported in Perrysburg, 178; Bowling Green, 132; BGSU campus, 10; Northwood, 62; North Baltimore, 28; Rossford, 27; Weston, 26; and Walbridge, 24.

Several schools in the county have reported recent cases of COVID. The report issued Oct. 7, gave an update of cases, including:

  • Lake, 4 students, 0 staff.
  • North Baltimore, 2 students, 0 staff.
  • Northwood, 52 students, 4 staff.
  • Otsego, 4 students, 0 staff.
  • Penta, 3 students, 0 staff.
  • Perrysburg, 21 students, 2 staff.
  • Rossford, 9 students, 3 staff.
  • St. Aloysius, 0 students, 2 staff.
  • Wood County Education Service Center, 2 students, 0 staff.
