The Wood County Republican Women’s Club is now accepting applications for scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,000 to any female high school senior who lives in Wood County and plans to attend college in 2025.
Applications are available in every high school office in Wood County and in many high schools in surrounding districts. Applications can also be requested directly by emailing wcrwc2025@gmail.com. The deadline for applying is April 10.
The WCRWC has offered scholarships to young women residing in Wood County since 2017. Applicants may attend high school outside of Wood County, but they must reside in the county to be eligible.
Scholarships are granted to eligible students from any type of school including homeschooled students. The amount of each scholarship is voted on by the membership of WCRWC.
Applicants are judged on the following criteria: academic achievement, leadership qualities, future aspirations, community service, and a short personal statement. Successful applicants are invited to the WCRWC annual meeting, which will take place on July 2 in Perrysburg.
President of the Wood County Republican Women’s Club, Sally Culling said, “The Wood County Republican Women’s Club is very proud to once again award scholarships to graduating seniors who reside in the county who are heading to college this fall. Research shows that private scholarship recipients are more likely to graduate from college and are more likely to graduate on time. I am very grateful to the members of the Wood County Republican Women’s Club for their continued generosity.”
