The Wood SWCD is planning its tree workshop and annual tree sale.
This year’s tree seedling sale offers Conifers: American Arborvitae, Colorado Blue Spruce, Norway Spruce, Concolor Fir, Bald Cypress, and White Pine; Hardwoods: Swamp White Oak, Red Maple, Tulip Poplar, Black Walnut, and Shagbark Hickory; Wildlife Shrubs: Red Bud, Common Lilac, Butterfly Bush, Black Chokeberry, and Spicebush; A mixed Conifer, Hardwood and Wildlife packet is also available. Prices range from $9.00 – $11.00 per packet of 10.
Red Raspberry and Black Raspberry are also offered.
The order and payment deadline is Monday, February 28, 2017. Order forms are available on the website at www.woodswcd.com, on Facebook, by calling the Wood SWCD at 419-354-5517, or at the district office: 1616 E Wooster Street (Greenwood Centre – The Courtyard).
The Wood SWCD is hosting a tree workshop, We All Need Trees!, with Bowling Green City Arborist, Grant Jones, and ODNR State Service Forester, Joe Puperi on Wednesday, February 22nd at 7:00 p.m. at the Wood SWCD office. The presentation will offer solutions to planting the right tree in the right location, where to purchase trees, and tree maintenance. A Q & A session will follow the presentation. It is free and open to the public. Registration is appreciated to ensure enough materials.
