Samuel the stray is a ‘sweetheart’ with people and other dogs at Wood County Dog Shelter

Meet Samuel, a 7-8 month-old pittie/great dane mix (shelter staff think) that came into the Wood County Dog Shelter as a stray.

“He is a huge sweetheart who loves everybody,” said Wood County Chief Dog Warden Jodi Harding. “He is very laid back, loves to hang out in the office, and does well with other dogs. He loves to go for walks and walks well on the leash.”

Samuel is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative.

“He would make a fantastic family dog in any home,” Harding said.

The adoption fee for all shelter dogs is $89, which includes a $14 Wood County dog license, and $75 vet voucher toward spay/neuter and vaccines if needed.

The hours for the shelter are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The shelter is closed on Sundays. The Wood County Dog Shelter is located at 1912 E. Gypsy Lane Road, Bowling Green, phone 419-354-9242.
