Local restaurants sought to join in Second Annual Restaurant Week BG

Tim Emmerich and Ardy Gonyer plan for second Restaurant Week in Bowling Green.

The Second Annual Restaurant Week BG is being planned by Ardy Gonyer and Tim Emmerich, owners of Easystreet Café and Call of the Canyon Café in Bowling Green.

The inaugural restaurant week in 2024 was deemed a success, with $6,500 raised for the Brown Bag Food Project. This year, the organizers are hoping to raise even more and continue to showcase the dining opportunities in the Bowling Green community.

This year, Restaurant Week BG will expand to be seven days, and will take place June 16-22. As with last year, this coincides with the first Firefly Night of the summer, and acts as a kick-off to the warm weather.

As was done last year, the restaurants will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Brown Bag Food Project, a non-profit that helps address food insecurity in Wood County.

Bowling Green restaurants are being asked to participate. Owners decide what goes on the special restaurant week menu. During the week of June 16-22, restaurants will track sales from the special menu. After the week has ended, all participating restaurants will donate 10% of their sales from that menu to the group, which will then donate those proceeds to The Brown Bag Food Project.

Each participating restaurant is asked to pay $100 up front to secure a spot in advertising and help offset publicity costs, if needed. The goal is to have 25 restaurants in the Bowling Green area participate this year.

Restaurant establishments may reach out with questions to Gonyer and Emmerich. Checks can be made to Easystreet Café and dropped off at either Call of the Canyon or Easystreet Cafe by May 23.
