Robert R Boggs

Robert Roy Boggs, age 81, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green. He was born on March 23, 1944, in Fremont to the late Charles J. & Mary E. (Yant) Boggs. Bob married Ann Thompson on January 22, 1965, at Mt. Zion United Brethren Church near Wayne.

Surviving Bob is his loving wife of 60 years, Ann; daughter, Michelle (Derek) Meikle of Findlay; son, Josh (Rebecca) Boggs of Marysville; sister, Lucy (Jack) Campbell of Toledo; grandchildren, Taylor, Alyssa, Mason, Dassah, Maddax; and nephews, Derek Ringler, and Casey Ringler. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Duane Boggs; and sister, Janice Fowler.

Bob was a 1962 graduate of Elmwood High School and then attended the University of Findlay where he played on the Findlay Oilers Football team and was scouted for the NFL. He served his Country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bob was a Purple Heart recipient, drove armored patrol vehicles, and could speak fluent Vietnamese as he was also a translator. He then worked for many years as a head buyer at the formerly known Motor Wheel, and after retirement he kept books at Schooner Farms. Bob had a passion for fishing, hunting, and bird watching, and his greatest love of all was spending time with his family.

Friends will be received for a Memorial Visitation from 12-1 PM on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 1 PM with Pastor Tamara Bennett officiating.
