Bowling Green Police arrested a Marysville man for OVI and improper handling of a firearm after the driver got out of his vehicle holding a gun Friday (Aug. 15) around 1:40 a.m.
BGPD officers drew their weapons and ordered the man to drop his gun. After multiple orders, the man put down the firearm.
An officer on routine patrol pulled over Travis Young, 28, after Young reportedly drove over a curb as he turned a corner at North Church Street and West Court Street in the downtown area.
Young reportedly had glassy eyes and told police he was headed home from the tractor pulls.
During the traffic stop, Young stepped out of his vehicle holding a semi-automatic pistol in his right hand. Officers confiscated the gun.
Back at the police station, Young performed a breath test, which recorded a BAC of 0.189.
