NAMI Wood County has a variety of programming throughout the year that is free and available to all Wood County residents.

This fall, NAMI Wood County will be hosting three programs for loved ones of individuals who have served or are currently serving in the nation’s military:

  • Sept. 4 from noon – 1:30 p.m. – QPR stands for Question, Persuade, Refer – the three steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. This 1.5 hour training teaches participants how to recognize suicide warning signs and how to respond if these signs are present, how to ask someone about the presence of suicidal thoughts and/or feelings, and how to offer hope. This presentation will take place at the NAMI Wood County office, 1250 Ridgewood Drive, Bowling Green. Visit https://namiwoodcounty.org/qpr/ to learn more and register.
  • Sept. 13, 20, 27 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Based on the nationally-recognized NAMI Family-to-Family program, NAMI Homefront is designed to address the unique needs of family, caregivers, and friends of those who have served or are currently serving the country. These sessions will take place virtually via Zoom. Visit https://namiwoodcounty.org/nami-homefront/ to learn more and register.
  • Oct. 17 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. – Mental Health First Aid teaches a five-step action plan to offer initial help to people with signs and symptoms of a mental illness or in crisis and connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care. The focus will be for veterans, military, and their families. This program will take place at the NAMI Wood County office.
