Michigan man with suspended license charged with improper handling of firearm and suspected drugs

A Michigan man was arrested Saturday (Sept. 13) around 7 p.m., near the intersection of North Main Street and Newton Road, for improper handling a firearm and having suspected drug paraphernalia in a vehicle.

Bowling Green Police pulled over Tory Carrier, 33, of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, because the trailer he was pulling with a truck was lacking a license plate and braking lights.

Inside the truck, officers reportedly found a plastic bag of suspected methamphetamine, a syringe, a spoon, and a glass pipe with drug residue.

Police reportedly asked Carrier if there were any firearms in the vehicle, which he allegedly denied. However, a search of the backseat reportedly found two shotguns.

Officers found that Carrier’s driver’s license was suspended in Ohio, and he had multiple prior convictions for domestic violence in Michigan, which prohibited him from possessing firearms.

Carrier was taken to Wood County Jail.
