From WOOD COUNTY COMMITTEE ON AGING
The Wood County Committee on Aging is currently scheduling its cholesterol screening clinics for November. Screenings are open to Wood County residents 25 years of age or older. The cost is $30. These screenings require an appointment and pretest instructions.
The screenings are in partnership with Wood County Hospital. The screening includes: total cholesterol, HDL or “good” cholesterol, LDL or “bad” cholesterol, triglycerides, total cholesterol/HDL ratio, and A1C – which shows how well one has controlled their blood glucose over the past two to three months. Results will be immediately available and discussed with clients by a registered nurse or health educator.
