For Keeps ‘Santa’s Helper’ event aims to give back to the community

From FOR KEEPS

For Keeps, a locally-owned, female-owned business, aims to give back to the community that supports it each year in November.

This year, For Keeps, 144 S. Main St., Bowling Green, will have its 16th annual “Santa’s Helper” event from Nov. 14 – 16. The goal of this event is to give back to the local community by collecting non-perishable items for a local food pantry, BG Christian Food Pantry.

Everyone is invited to shop at For Keeps from Nov. 14 – 16. Customers who bring in three or more non-perishable items to be donated will receive a 20% discount on every regular priced item in the shop.

Amy Craft Ahrens, the owner of this shop with three levels of jewelry, seasonal decor, and gifts, says that this event has become a staple of the For Keeps holiday season and is a great way to kick off the season of giving. “It feels good to give to your community, whether it’s the customer giving items to the food pantry or us, at For Keeps, giving a discount to encourage folks to donate. We love this event. It gets everyone in the holiday spirit.”

Craft Ahrens feels shopping local is important for an interconnected community, and she feels it is equally important for local businesses to give back to the community which supports them. The owner and the staff at For Keeps appreciate the opportunity to serve their customers and the community.

For Keeps is open Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 12 – 4 p.m.
