BG pedestrian struck by vehicle charged with failure to obey a traffic control device

A pedestrian struck by a vehicle on South Main Street Thursday (Jan. 8) was charged with failure to obey a traffic control device.

The 54-year-old man was attempting to cross South Main at Napoleon Road, using the marked crosswalk. According to Bowling Green Police Division, the man did not have the right-of-way since vehicular traffic traveling southbound on South Main Street had the green light.

A vehicle struck the pedestrian, causing a suspected minor injury. The man was transported by BG EMS to Wood County Hospital.

The pedestrian was advised to obey the pedestrian beacons when crossing the road, not the vehicular traffic signals.
