From GRAND RAPIDS TOWN HALL COMMITTEE

The Grand Rapids Town Hall Committee and Historical Society of Grand Rapids have announced that the Jolly Gabbers will be performing in the auditorium of the historic Grand Rapids Town Hall on Saturday, March 21, at 7 p.m.

The Jolly Gabbers provide music of various genres, styles, and time periods for people’s listening pleasure, specializing in 19th and 20th century Irish folk music. These three men hail from Perrysburg and have performed at the Tiffin Seneca Heritage Festival, Grand Rapids Applebutter Fest, various Toledo Metroparks events, and more venues.

The trio will play their favorite sea shanties, tunes of the Miami and Erie Canal, and drinking songs of the German and Irish. The band’s front man, Tyler E. Burg, is a living historian, musician, and audio and lighting engineer and is active with the Toledo Opera. He has held various theater roles in live theater productions throughout the region. Craig Spicer provides vocals and guitar; Sean McGavin provides vocals, banjo, bodhran, and 12-string; and Blarney the Dinosaur provides moral support.

Tickets are $10 each and are available at the Village Orchard in Grand Rapids or at the door. Attendees will be able to view the renovations completed in the Town Hall.
