Police arrest Toledo man for alleged assault, strangulation and criminal damaging

A Toledo man was arrested for assault, strangulation and criminal damaging on Sunday (July 19) around 2:40 p.m.

Bowling Green Police were called to an apartment in the 1500 block of East Clough Street for a possible domestic violence incident in progress.

Jequan Williams, 25, was arrested after he reportedly told police the resident of the apartment was disrespectful toward him, so he broke her TV and put his hands around her neck in a “low key” manner. Williams reportedly told police the woman was being overly dramatic.

The woman had a red mark on her neck, and told police she lost consciousness while being choked.

Williams was taken to Wood County Jail.
