Joanne F. Patton entered into heaven on August 20th, with her family by her side. She was born January 30, 1939 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late Carl and Hilda (Benschoter) Dietrich.
Joanne was deeply loved by her daughter and granddaughter and will be greatly missed. Joanne loved telling people that her and Cindy shared the same birthday. Joanne had deep love for her husband Jim of 48 years and their son Mike. Jim and Jo had many great friends throughout their life, who they enjoyed traveling with.
Joanne was known for her chocolate and peanut butter fudge, as well as her cheese balls every Christmas. We will always remember the family gatherings, summer picnics, holidays and Easter egg hunts shared with one another. She loved to shop and spoil her family.
She was a member of the Rudolph Christian Church and the Christian Women’s Fellowship, always there to lend a helping hand at the church functions.
Joanne retired from the Rudolph Post office where she served as Post Master. She was very proud of originating the Rudolph Christmas Stamp that is very popular today. In her early years she created beautiful cakes as a part time business and also had a ceramic shop in Rudolph.
Joanne is survived by her daughter Cindy (Dan) Ackerman, granddaughter Mary Jo (Corey) Tyda and great grandsons Colton and Cameron Tyda, who affectionately called her Jo Jo. Brothers and sister in laws, Jeanne and Tom Ricard, Tom and Sharon Patton, Cathy Marso, Steve and Terie Patton and Mark and Sheila Patton, Norm Bassett, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Hilda and Carl Dietrich, Joanne was preceded in death by husband Jim, son Mike, sister Mary Lou, niece Rhonda, foster sister Jennie Spencer, and in-laws Harry and Frances Patton.
