Mary Ann Bostdorff, age 85, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
Mary Ann was born on July 7, 1941, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to the late Vernon and Breva (Miller) Carr. She was a lifelong resident of the Bowling Green community and was a graduate of Bowling Green Senior High School. Mary Ann continued her education starting at The Toledo School of Nursing and then went on to The Ohio State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
On June 23, 1962, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Richard Bostdorff, of Bowling Green. Together they built a life filled with love, family, hard work, and countless cherished memories.
Mary Ann dedicated her life to caring for others through her nursing career. She began her work as a nurse in obstetrics, a role she dearly loved and in which she found great joy. She continued her calling as a nurse after moving to Northwest New York where she and Richard also started a family. Later moves to Oregon ad then Florida brought Mary Ann continued experiences in nursing including being a charge nurse in Rehabilitation. Upon her and Richard returning to Ohio, she found a nursing role at Harbor Community Behavioral Health in Bowling Green, where her compassion and caring nature touched the lives of many.
Outside of nursing, Mary Ann was an important part of the family business, Bostdorff’s Greenhouse Acres. She played a key role in the business, helping with bookkeeping and welcoming customers at the front desk. Her dedication, dependability, and warm presence were an important part of the family’s work and legacy.
Mary Ann was an avid reader and found simple joy in the comfort of a good book. She was also a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, where her faith was an important part of her life.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband Richard S. Bostdorff. She is also survived by their daughter Alicia A. Bostdorff of Webster, Florida, and son Dr. Christopher R. Bostdorff of Watkinsville, Georgia.
Above all else, Mary Ann treasured her family. She especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren, Hannah, Madison, Hudson, Ethan, Jacob, and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Nora, Theodore and Owen, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Her love, kindness, compassion, and devotion to those she held dear will remain in the hearts of her family and all who knew her.
A visitation for Mary Ann will be held on Sunday September 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Dunn Funeral Home located in the Historical District of Bowling Green, Ohio at 408 W. Wooster St. Her funeral service will be held on Monday September 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church 1526 E. Wooster St. Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Interment will follow at Union Hill Cemetery.
