Work continues on South Main Street in Bowling Green’s downtown, connecting water service lines and the installation of a gravity sewer line. Over the next two weeks, the contractor plans to be in the 100 and 200 block of South Main, from Wooster to Washington. During this time, the street will be closed to traffic within the work zone and parking will be prohibited.
During these closures, local traffic will be detoured around the area using side streets. Truck traffic will be detoured around the outer belt of the city using Poe Road, Thurstin/Manville avenues, and Napoleon Road.
The utility portion of this project is anticipated to last until July. Once complete, a contractor will repave the downtown. The repaving work will include concrete work to include portions of curbs and ADA ramps. During the repaving project, the bricks within the intersection of Main and Wooster will be replaced. This will require an extended closure of the intersection which is anticipated to last at least two weeks.
