The Ohio State Department of Rehabilitation and Correction found no deficiencies when it recently conducted the 2019 annual inspection of the Wood County Jail.
As Wood County operates a full-service jail, the inspection reviewed standards focused on many areas – such as reception and release, classification, security, sanitation and environmental conditions, food service, staffing and training. The inspection viewed a total of 116 standards and found that Wood County was in compliance with every standard, with no deficiencies noted.
“Your continuing effort to maintain compliance with the minimum standards for jails in Ohio is to be commended,” said state jail inspector Patrick Kennedy.
“Each year our annual jail inspection reveals the tremendous job our deputies do every day,” Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn said. “I am very proud of their hard work to maintain a safe, clean, secure facility for inmates in Wood County.”
