The Wood County Committee on Aging is proud to host film buff Dr. John Blinn as he presents a bi-weekly film series at the Wood County Senior Center.
Blinn’s selections, plucked from the Golden Age of Hollywood, include personal favorites and seldom-seen classics. Each film is introduced by Blinn, and following the viewing, enlightening discussion is welcome.
The screenings are free of charge to individuals of all ages. Complimentary
popcorn will be served.
- Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m. – “The Rose Bowl Story” (1952), starring Marshall Thompson, Vera Miles, Richard Robar, Natalie Wood, and Jim Backus. This screening will also include an additional highlight of the actual edited play by play footage of the 1952 Rose Bowl game between Illinois and Stanford which ended with a score of 40 to 7. The footage will show the changes in college football plays, strategy and equipment in the past 70 years.
- Tuesday, Jan. 21, at 1 p.m. – “Million Dollar Baby” (1941) a romantic comedy starring Priscilla Lane, Jeffrey Lynn, and Ronald Reagan” (1940).
The series commences at 1 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month, at the Wood County Committee on Aging Senior Center, 304 N. Main St., Bowling Green.
